AirSpeed Telecom, the leading provider of licensed wireless telecommunications products and services to large enterprises, public sector bodies and SME businesses in Ireland, is providing all of the telecommunications requirements for the Oxegen festival in Punchestown this weekend.
Oxegen, which begins this Friday, is Ireland’s best music festival. The event takes place over four days with up to 80,000 attending attending across the weekend.
AirSpeed Telecom is providing scalable bandwidth of up to 200Mbps at Oxegen. As AirSpeed Telecom has a flexible IP network, it means they can bring bandwidth to virtually anywhere – even a 550 acre site in the middle of the Co. Kildare countryside!
AirSpeed Telecom has also established a WiMax base station on the site to facilitate requirements in remoter parts of the venue. ISDN is also available for radio and television stations who will be broadcasting live from the venue.
Liam O’Kelly, Managing Director, AirSpeed Telecom, says:
“AirSpeed Telecom is providing what is essentially the equivalent to a telephone exchange at Oxegen. This is connected to our network and will ensure high speed bandwidth which will add considerably to the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the event for the organizers as well as retailers and commercial partners.”
Louis Harte, Festival Manager Oxegen, says:
“AirSpeed Telecom’s solution for Oxegen has provided us with the high speed flexible voice and data package we need to stage one of Europe’s largest and most technically complex music festivals.”
